FAQs

Our program does not provide day care.   We recommend working with local agencies, such as CTI and DTA,  for assistance with child care services.

Links to the Registration form are on the home page of our website.

For those who can not register online, students can make an appointment to register in-person or on the phone.   Once the registration form is received, students will be contacted to schedule placement testing.

If classes are full, students will be placed on a waiting list.  Students will be invited to start classes when space is available.

Please go to our "How to Register Page" for detailed information.

In Massachusetts, candidates must pass the GED, the HiSET,  or a combination of all subject tests from both exams.

AAEC offers HSE classes to help Greater Lowell residents to prepare both these exams.

AAEC is an official Test Center for GED and HiSET.  We offer both computer and paper-based HiSET exams.  For more information about testing please see our Test Center page.

Day classes begin in September and run through June, following the Lowell Public School schedule.

Night classes begin in late September  and run until mid-May.

As long as there is space available, students can register throughout most of the school year.  Students put on a wait list will be invited to start when a space becomes available.

Day classes are held at our Main Center, located at 408 Merrimack Street in downtown, and at our  satellite programs at CTI, CMAA, MAPS and LASA.

Our night classes are at Lowell High School, and at our satellites at CMAA and the Moody School.

We offer In-Person and Remote Classes.

Class options will be shown on the registration form.
